Royal Poinciana

Royal Poinciana (Delonix regia)

Source tree from Top Tropicals, Jan 2017

This tree was literally a 3 ft stick with no leaves in a pot (obviously with roots) when I bought it. I planted in the ground in February. By September it was a 15 ft tree with a branching / spreading canopy!!! The growth rate of this tree is nothing short of astonishing. It has very beautiful foliage, but *very* frost sensitive. This past winter it completely defoliated and the top 6 ft of braches died back. It is budding out again (as of March 2018). I will update with pics this summer.
