Black Jack Fig
Source tree from LE Cooke (Tropica Mango), Apr 2014
Observations based on Chandler, AZ Growing conditions:
Breba Crop: No
Main Crop: 3
Vigor: med-high vigor
Production: med productivity
Vigorous tree and a very solid grower in Phoenix. Very good tree for rootstocks. Black Jack would be classified as a sugar fig: Classic fig flavor without a lot of additional flavor characteristics. Skin is dark purple and flesh is amber. Very sweet. The first crop of figs are almost always of average quality. But the late season figs are always very good. Much richer and more flavorful. Fairly large fig (golf ball sized). Large open eye.
