Raja Puri Banana
Source plant from Going Bananas, March 2016
Very stout banana (thick pseudostem compared to height). Beautiful wide green leaves. Mine fruited at about 6 ft tall. For some reason, the fruit started to dry up on the flower stalk before getting fully ripe, so I could not evaluate the flavor (they were basically inedible). But many have had success with this banana in Phoenix, so I am sticking with them.
In the picture below, the mother pseudostem has died (banana stalks die after flowering) and these are the pups that are now about fruiting size. So I hope I will get a chance to have some Raja Puri bananas in 2018.
