Panache Fig

Panache Fig

Source tree from Dave Wilson Nursery (Tropica Mango, July 2014)

Observations based on Chandler, AZ Growing conditions:

Breba Crop: No
Main Crop: 1-2
Vigor: low-med vigor
Production: low-med productivity

A well regarded variety for good reason. Tree has beautiful glossy leaves and the fruit has striking ‘tiger stripe’ pattern of dark green and yellow green. When ripe the fig skin turns yellow. Tree grows well in Phoenix (but not vigorously), our tree is displaying a relatively dwarf growing habit: short internode spacing on leaves and branches (most Panache trees tend to have medium vigor, so this one is atypical). Figs when ripe have a yellow skin, and flesh is red, rich and jammy. Quite sweet and flavorful with a rich and bright strawberry-fig flavor. Small/medium eye. Medium/low productivity.
