DIED SUMMER 2018: Summer 2018 was especially brutal. Growth kept getting fried back in June and by late July it was dead.

The reason why I have this as a Peluche (?) is because I got a very vigorous Gold Nugget seedling that I grafted a Peluche scion onto. The Peluche scion was large and I did a long veneer graft. In the summer of 2016 the top of the scion died, but the veneer part (the portion in contact with the rootstock) was still alive. So in 2017 I cut the rootstock back to the height of the veneer graft. And I got I think a bud to form on the veneer section. It is hard to tell because that section calloused over pretty heavily. So it might be a bud from the rootstock. So I am just going to let it grow out and see what happens.
